Floating Script Frame

This frame is for “floating” photos. One of my favorites. The photo floats between two glass sheets, no mat. Nice clean modern look to display a photo. You can purchase it here….Link

Start by taking the frame apart and removing the stickie glue from both glass sheets. The glue on the glass is a little tough to remove, Some Magic Goo Gone works well. Clean and dry glass.

Lay one sheet of glass on the back of the acetate script sheet.

With a sharpie marker, draw the outside edge of the glass onto the script sheet.

With scissors, cut the sheet out on the lines.

Trim your photo.

Place your photo on the glass.

With a tiny piece of the acid free tape, tape the photo to the glass to keep it from sliding between the glass. I like to secure at the bottom, less noticeable.

Rub the tape so it does not show.

Place the acetate script sheet over the photo.

Layer the glass over the acetate script sheet.

Gently place all the layers into the frame. There is a designated “top” to this frame. If you look at the back side of the frame, you will see two tiny holes in the frame. This is the top.Tighten the tabs.

Attach the saw tooth picture holder to the two tiny holes with your screw driver.

Or if you pefer not to hang your frame, it comes with a  detachable stand.

Very sweet!

Tone On Tone Script Frame

This traditional, but modern frame can softly add sentiment. This frame is one of my all-time favorite frames. It comes in several wood colors and multiple sizes. Wood Gallery Frames from Pottery Barn, Modern White, Link here…

I changed the color photo to black and white and changed the size to 4" x 6".

Take the frame apart. No need to clean the glass, It comes in perfect ready to use condition.

Flip the mat over, place onto the script sheet. Make sure it is lined up perfectly.

With a sharp pencil trace the outline of the mat as well as the inside cut out. You may have to press fairly hard. The pencil line will leave a sight mark that you will use as a cutting guide.

Cut the outside edges with scissors.

With your X-Acto knife and straight edge, carefully cut and remove the center cutout. I lightly traced the line with the knife first and then with a second pass, a little harder pressure to cut. Remove cut out.

Lay the cut script sheet inside the frame next to the glass.

Flip the mat over and tape the photo in place with acid free tape.

Assemble the frame.

Adorable.

Twinkle Twinkle Frame
This is what you will need for this frame-

Frame
Freezer paper
Spray adhesive
Scissors
Pencil
Sharpie Marker
Script
Ink Jet Printer

This frame is another one of Pottery Barn’ Wood Gallery Frames, in black, link here…

For this style of transferring, I suggest your do a trial test on scrap card stock, just to get the "feel" of the technique.

With Word, I printed four lines from “Twinkle Twinkle”. You can use anything you like. A date, words from a song, anything. I used the font “Segoe Script”, size 16. If you have great handwriting, you can pen this part by hand. Lucky you.

Place several lines of space between your lines. Print in mirror image. Your local printer and copy store (Kinkos) can easily print it for you if you like.

Spray a sheet of printer paper (8 1/2" x 11") with the spray adhesive.

Cut a sheet of the freezer paper slightly larger than the printer paper.

Carefully lay the non-waxy side of the freezer paper onto the paper with the adhesive. Smooth. Trim excess freezer paper off.

Check your printer to find which side of the sheet it prints on. Place your mirror image sheet on the printer. Place your freezer paper sheet into the paper tray and print.

Be careful not touch the lettering on the freezer paper, it will smudge.

With a straight edge, carefully draw a cutting line 1/8” above the letters.

Cut each line out.

Place your first line onto the mat edge. Center the line, and place a faint pencil line on the mat opening where the line starts and finishes. On the back of the script paper draw a line where the words start and stop.

With a barely damp cloth, lightly wet the edge of the mat where the words are to be applied. It should not be too wet or the words will run or be blurry. Just barely wet.

Place the paper with the word side down onto the mat, lined up between the pencil marks. Hold the paper down and with the bottom of a marker burnish (rub) the back of the paper. Give it a good rub,

Remove the paper strip.

Repeat for all four sides.

Touch up with a pencil any of the lettering that are slightly lighter. Erase your pencil alignment marks.

Hand draw stars in the corners with a pencil. Draw over with a black ultra-thin sharpie marker.

Attach photo to back side of mat with acid free tape. Assemble frame.

Happy memories, saved and treasured. Yours.
