KISS KISS

0

Some say Christmas is the merriest time of year. Others say it is the most beautiful season. It might even be the season of love. Or the season to help a little love along. So, while you are busy decking the halls, don’t forget to hang a little mistletoe over the door. You never know who may need a reason to kindle a little romance this season. Or perhaps there is a special someone you would love to share a kiss under the magical mistletoe. This adorable kissing ball is a traditional Christmas decor that is just begging one to linger a little longer at your doorstep. Sometimes serendipity needs a little help...Love is always welcome.

This little ball of love only takes about 15 minutes to make, but can make a lasting impression to all who enter your home this season. Very romantic, very intriguing, very memorable.

This is what you will need-
4” Oasis Foam Ball
½ Lb. Fresh Mistletoe…Link here
Twine
Ribbon
Scissors
Glue Gun
Awl (optional)

You may be able to purchase fresh mistletoe at your local nursery, if not it can be delivered to your door in a matter of days. See above link to order online.

Start by tying the twine around the oasis ball.

At the bottom, add a dot of hot glue to hold the twine in place.

Wrap the twine up the sides. Make a small loop at top of ball with the twine.

Cut 2” lengths or so of tiny sprigs of all the mistletoe.

Starting at the top, make a small hole with your awl.

Gently place a sprig into the hole.

Fill in the top with sprigs.

Continue to fill in the ball with sprigs, from the top to the bottom.

Fill in any gaps or spaces with the sprigs until you cannot see any of the floral ball. Don't worry about the top, any gaps will be hidden with your big bow.

Once all the spaces are filled up, hang the ball from a hook or door knob and lightly mist with water. You do not need to soak the floral ball in water, it may become too heavy and fall apart. Mist with water every couple of days or so. The mistletoe will eventually dry out, but it will stay green (slightly muted) and can be enjoyed through out the season.

Add a festive ribbon.

Tie a pretty bow.

Hang the mistletoe kissing ball over your door and wait and see what magic it will bring...

Kiss kiss..
