SCATTERING STARS

1

Imagine little flickering lights in the night. Scattered here and there, just a perfect twinkle to set a mood. Little white stars scattered all over your table top, entryway, outdoors or just illuminating you and your spa. Simple, but high impact. Needing just a few items, and a little time, you too can light up the night.

This is what you will need for your stars-

Star Silicone Mold
Plaster Of Paris
Measuring Cup
Plastic Mixing Container
Wooden Spoon
Tea Lights
Paper Towels
Water
Coins

Start by removing the plastic/metal cup that holds the tea light.

Follow mixing instructions on your Plaster of Paris. You will have to work quickly. Once mixed, you have about 5 minutes before the plaster will start to set. The mix should look and feel like pancake batter. To make six stars, I mixed two cups Plaster of Paris with one cup water.

Fill your star mold (a little more than half) with the mix, then place the plastic/metal liner into the star. Press the liner into the plaster. The wet plaster should rise up to the top of the mold, but not over and into the liner. Gently tap the mold to release any air bubbles.

Place some coins inside the liner to anchor it. Let dry about one hour.

Carefully pop each star out of the mold. Turn upside down and let dry several hours or overnight.

You can spray sealer on the star, if you like.

Place tea light back into the liner.

You can paint or decorate your new stars, I will keep mine white.

A twinkle here…

Lighting up the night, one star at a time.
